Hi, my name is McKenzie.  Welcome to my blog!
Let me start off by telling you I love Mexican food, a good beer and anything covered in (white) chocolate


I also love learning about nutrition and fitness.  I am constantly trying to better my physical fitness & improve my skills in the kitchen!  I also happen to be a registered dietitian.

I've collected cookbooks for years and have liked experimenting in the kitchen since college.  My husband was laid off several years ago and spent those few months watching Food Network and learning a lot of cooking tips and tricks.  He does the majority of the cooking in our house, but he is more of a outdoor chef (in addition to a grill, the man owns several smokers), while I prefer to do my cooking indoors.


After my 28th birthday, I decided I wanted to improve my baking skills.  I vowed to bake one new recipe every few weeks.  I started this blog as a way to track those recipes. While the project didn't pan out quite as I planned, the blog was born & rolling even if my baking wasn't. 

After some thought-and experimenting in the blog world, I decided to dedicate this blog (mostly) to the recipes that come out of our kitchen.  It is a way to remember what we made and share those recipes-all the good, bad & ugly-with the world.
